# Orvin Labs > Orvin Labs is an AI visibility consultancy that checks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Google AI Overviews recommend a B2B SaaS product, and fixes what stops them. Orvin Labs runs a set of real buyer questions across six AI engines and records which products each engine names. The engines are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and Google AI Overviews. Orvin Labs checks whether AI crawlers can access a site. AI tools send their own crawlers, and sites often block them by accident at the CDN layer. A blocked site cannot be cited. Orvin Labs reports on structured markup and discovery files, stating what is present, what is missing, and what is misconfigured. Orvin Labs maps the third party sources that AI answers in a category are built from, and identifies where a company is absent from those sources. Orvin Labs records what each AI engine says about a product directly, including factual errors the engine repeats to buyers. Orvin Labs works from public data and does not need access to a client's site. Orvin Labs advises and the client's own developers deploy. Orvin Labs does not make changes to client systems. Orvin Labs does not guarantee placement in AI answers. Nobody controls what ChatGPT or Gemini return. Generative engine optimization is approximately two years old. The term was coined in 2024 research co authored at IIT Delhi. Fewer than 10% of the sources AI engines cite match the top 10 Google results. AI answers return a shortlist of two or three tools rather than a page of results. Technical fixes to AI visibility take effect in days to weeks. Citation work takes one to three months. AI search is currently a small share of total web traffic and Google remains far larger. Traffic is not the right measure of AI visibility. The shortlist forms before anyone clicks. A buyer who asks an AI assistant which tools to consider has narrowed the field to two or three names before the vendor's site receives a visit, and that happens whether or not a click follows. The engagement runs in four steps. First, a twenty minute call, with live checks run on the product beforehand. Second, the audit, five to seven business days, requiring the client's site and three competitor names. Third, the report, a PDF plus a ten minute video walkthrough.
